What is the difference between Slim and Standard ballasts?

Slim ballast is a new ballast technology where the ballast is built using smaller components using integrated circuits. The product emits less heat and is more stable for long term use. Slim ballast also take less room because the igniter is housed outside on the wire. This allows the ballast to be installed in more tight situations.
